Chapter I (Medellín, Colombia).
In Colombia’s second city getting to play on a level field is something that most will not get a shot at. The country is one of the least equitable on the face of the earth and most kids find a more level field playing football on the sloped streets and pitted pitches of the popular barrios in the north, east and west of the city than life offers them. The Dream Factory is a celebration of the hope and energy of the poor kids who play football, performing a ballet on the streets of the poor marginal barrios far from the more economically comfortable neighbourhoods whose kids have better chances and ultimately determine the direction of society in Medellín and Colombia.
